What is the Meta keywords tag?
The Meta keywords tag is a HTML element situated within your page code, the keywords tag is not seen by humans. This tag is used to describe the keywords which will be used in the body of your document.
Why use a Meta keywords tag?
The Meta keywords tag is only used by search engines and sadly due to so much abuse over the years with keyword stuffing it is unused by the major search engines, some search engines may use this tag so if you want to use the keywords tag it wont hurt (but dont expect it to improve your ranking)
Do's with Meta keywords tag?
• place your most important keywords in order of importance known as
• only use keywords which will appear in the body of your document (using keywords which aren’t in your document will not help the search engine decipher what your page is about)
• This may seem obvious but only use the Meta keywords tag for pages you want to rank; there is no point in using it if you don’t want a specific page to rank well.
Dont's with Meta keywords tag?
• Don’t stuff it full of keywords (keyword stuffing)
• Don’t repeat the same keywords more than twice; there is no reason (other than trickery) why you would need to repeat your keyword more than twice?
• Don’t use the same keywords on every page (make each page a different keyword)
